EIATRACK expands European coverage
1 January 2004
Companies selling products into Europe are about to face one of the biggest challenges of in the history of the European Union: the forthcoming enlargement. 13 countries have applied for accession to the EU, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Turkey. The EU has opened accession negotiations with all of them except Turkey. Ten of these are set to to join on 1st May 2004, two (Bulgaria and Romania) are hoping to join in 2007
With accession drawing closer, it is essential that companies operating both in the current EU Member States and in the candidate countries are informed about the relevant business challenges and opportunities that enlargement will bring, sufficiently and on time.
That is why EIATRACK (and key member companies) have launched a new service focusing on the candidate countries and the specifics of their national legislation with timely and high qualitative information updated annually (and more regularly as more members join) to facilitate appropriate business actions where necessary.
The EIATRACK already provides access to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland but we are now able to provide a valuable addition to the service by offering the extra 11 jurisdictions:
1. Bulgaria
2. Cyprus
3. Estonia
4. Latvia
5. Lithuania
6. Malta
7. Romania
8. The Slovak Republic
9. Slovenia
10. Turkey
11. Luxembourg is also included to provide all European Union States as part of the system.
A special steering committee to focus on European issues will be established to allow European staff unprecedented access to define and develop the site, should you or your company be interested in taking part in the steering committee contact either Andrew Sweatman sweatmana@eshconnect.com or Jana Richter of Sony jrichter@sony.de
